Marial Arts Classes & Services in Woburn
Adult Martial Arts Program
Our adult martial arts program is suitable for anyone over the age of 18 who is in good physical health. You don’t need to be particularly physically fit, as our training will help you see improvements there, but you should be prepared to physically workout e.g., moving, for 60 minutes. Unlike most Krav Maga schools in the U.S. We don’t teach Krav Maga as a fitness workout/exercise, but as a fighting/self-defense system. This means that improvements in fitness come about as a result of learning how to fight and physically defend yourself and is not the goal of the program. In our adult martial arts classes ,you will learn how to defend yourself against both unarmed and armed attacks. These may involve single or multiple assailants and may occur when standing, seated or on the ground. We also teach you how to transition between all of these dimensions e.g., a fight may start off as a standing affair but then transition to the ground and then back to standing etc. If you are interested in starting training in the Israeli martial art of Krav Maga, you should first take one of our beginner classes which can be seen/accessed using the button below.

Kids & Teens Martial Arts Classes
Our Kids and Teens martial arts program in Woburn, runs between 11:15 AM to 12 PM on Saturday mornings during the school year (we split the program into two semesters, with each having roughly 15 classes in each). These martial arts classes are suitable for Kids and Teens aged from six to seventeen. We teach different age groups within the 45-minute class, different techniques and solutions based on the situations they are likely to face. Violence is contextual and the type of scenarios a teenager will have to deal with may be very different to those an 8-year-old may have to face etc. As well as teaching contextually and age-appropriate physical content (we don’t teach joint locks until a teen is fifteen for safety reasons), we also give instruction in violence avoidance as well as de-escalation and conflict resolution i.e., how to prevent and deal with potentially violent situations in a non-physical manner. If you are interested in learning more about our program, please use the button below (this will take you to our main website).

Corporate Krav Maga, Personal Safety & Self-Defense Training
Martial arts Woburn Head Instructor, Gershon Ben Keren, has been working in the security sector since 1990, first as an operative and then as a consultant and trainer. He has over thirty years’ worth of
experience teaching and training members of corporations and organizations on how to predict, identify and prevent violence from happening. This involves working with organizations on managing and mitigating
risk for the benefit of its members, implementing physical security systems, along with work on data and information security. With his experience and background in academia (he holds two master’s degrees:
one in psychology and the other in criminology and criminal psychology), he brings an educated and informed approach to the training he delivers.
Whilst it is often the case that when individuals think about dealing with violence, they first think of educating and equipping themselves with physical self-defense and martial arts techniques etc., it is usually more productive to train people in how to recognize the processes that offenders use to gain access to those they victimize. Gershon Ben Keren applies criminological models and research to his teaching, demonstrating that violent offending follows a pattern that is predictable. By teaching people how to identify the various steps and stages that offenders go through, such as their victim/target selection process, it is possible for individuals to stay off an offender’s radar or recognize when they have become the interest of somebody etc. At this stage it is usually possible to trigger a disengagement methodology and exit the situation.
Gershon Ben Keren has delivered such training along with travel security, human resources safety programs, and active shooter/killer solutions internationally. He has delivered a variety of training to Blue
Chip and Fortune 500 companies as well as organizations numbering only a few people. He has trained companies and organizations remotely, and in person, delivering both non-physical presentations and physical
training sessions. There are few industries that he has not worked in having trained individuals working in mining, finance, technology, and healthcare etc. All of his training is tailored for the individuals
it is being delivered to and the contexts within which they are likely to experience violence

Gershon offers training to law-enforcement agencies on a pro-bono basis as part of his philosophy of giving back to the community.
